PLAN COMMISSION MEETING
Town of Cooks Valley
July 9, 2014

The public hearing was held prior to the plan commission meeting.

Chairman Doug Zwiefelhofer called the Plan Commission meeting to order at 8:02 pm on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the Cooks Valley Town Hall [15784 40th Street].   Plan Commission members in attendance:  Doug Zwiefelhofer, Stanley Sarauer, Calvin Swartz, Thomas Short, and Damian Prince.

Public Comment:  There was no public comment.

Approval of the plan commission meeting minutes of January 8, 2014: This item was postponed due to incorrect minutes that were distributed.   

Discussion and possible approval of Courtney Bungartz/Chris Lang request for a variance of building setback limits:     Stanley Sarauer made a motion to recommend to the Town of Cooks Valley town board to grant a variance from the Town of Cooks Valley if a variance is needed, because the setback limits are met regarding the property lines and the setback from the road was a county road.  The plan commission felt unsure of power to grant a variance of a county road.  Thomas Short seconded the motion.   The motion carried 5-0.

Discussion and possible approval of Don & Cynthia Swartz request for a variance of building setback limits:  Stanley Sarauer made a motion to recommend to the board to grant a variance request for a variance of building setback limits.  Discussion involved the small one acre size lot with septic system and well yielded with limited building sites.  The setback of 56 feet still allowed for visibility from the driveway access and allowed snowplowing.  Calvin Swartz seconded the motion.  The motion carried 5-0.
