Regular Town Board Meeting

February 10, 2025

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on February 10, 2025 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

were Matt Borofka and Kale Clements. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the February 10, 2025 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on February 6, 2025.

 

Public Comment: none

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None

Approval of the January 13, 2025 Board meeting minutes – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve minutes for January 13, 2025 board meeting.  Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

Reading by Treasurer of January financial report: Ending balance on January 31, 2025 of $94,464.56 and total cash on 

hand $189,628.54. Security Bank loan balance as of January 31, 2025 is $88,756.28

 

Reading and Approval of the January bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #6287 - 6315 for payment of the January bills. Mark Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: none / 1 town hall rental fee of $50

Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission- did not meet

Discussion and possible action on 2025 Road projects: Darrel Fehr made a motion to do pulverizing/paving/shouldering for section of 40th Street starting at 150th Ave & south to 135th Ave. Matt Borofka seconded motion. Motion carried 3-0

 

Discussion and possible approval of 2025 Road ditch clean up project: Darrel Fehr made a motion to participate in 2025 Road ditch cleanup. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0

 

Discussion and possible action on marking culverts for Chippewa county aerial map: Darrel Fehr made a motion to mark culverts in township with a 1x1’ white box to be identified by Chippewa County Aerial maps. Kale Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

Discussion and possible action on attendance at March 15, 2025 WTA meeting: cost is $65 per person Darrel Fehr made a motion to pay fee for 2 board members to attend conference and get BOR certification. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

Chairman’s report: roads in good shape, shed fire on County Hwy A, 

Recycling report by Rod Thorson –  work schedule, Rod and Tom Yakesh for February – metals empty, trash 1/3 full, recycling box to be swapped this week, no freon items and not much demo in box, florescent bulbs .75-$1.00 cost

 

Dissemination of Information, Clerks report: Election February 18th for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, QB price going up to $999 to be paid in March, received recycling grant paperwork to fill out, Wes posted Clerk position on website

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of February 10, 2025 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, February bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission

 

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – March 10, 2025 at 7:00 pm

 

Adjourn:  Kale Clements made a motion to adjourn at 7:27 pm. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
