REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY, February 12th, 2026
Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on February 12th, 2026 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present
were Matt Borofka and Kale Clements. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-deputy clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.
Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the February 12th 2026 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on February 8th, 2026.
Public Comment: no public comment
Discussion and possible action on budget categories- none brought forward, note to Board that funds running low for snowplowing
Approval of the January 12th 2026 board meeting minutes; Matt Borofka approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 3-0.
Reading by Treasurer of January financial report-Ending balance on January 31st, 2026 of $36,285.84 and total cash on hand $142,840.02. Security Bank loan balance as of January 31st, 2026 is $52,524.46.
Reading and approval of the January bills-checks 6558-6590-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 3-0.
Building/driveway permits-Pete Sarauer (building permit) Tony Pecha & Matt Burgess (driveway permits)
Discussion and possible action on revised road work for 2026 & authorize bidding- Darrel Fehr made a motion to change road work from a maintenance project to pulverizing & paving 70th street north to 150th Ave (total of 5017 feet) and authorize bidding. Seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 3-0
Discussion and possible action on awarding 186th culvert projects to Chippewa County Highway Department or put out bid Darrel Fehr made a motion to award project to Chippewa county at a quote of $43,492.90 of which the county will pay half cost. seconded by Kale Clements, motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission-did not meet
Chairman’s report-fire report-no fires to report
Recycling report by Rod Thorson- Tom Yakesh/Rod Thorson & Dave Clements will cover February and 2 boxes swapped out
Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report-we had a great turn out for the election equipment training on January 14th, town hall is rented out on 2/15 and all the emails have been changed to .gov.
Future items and business-next meeting 3/9/26, board to approve 2 Plan Commission members, WTA meeting in Eau Claire on March 7
