Town of Cooks Valley 

REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

MONDAY January 12th, 2026


Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on January 12th, 2026 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

were Matt Borofka.  Other officers present: Erica Ullom-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the January 12th 2026 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on January 5th, 2026.

Public Comment: no public comment 

Discussion and possible action on budget categories- none brought forward 

 

Approval of the December 8th 2025 board meeting minutes; Matt Borofka approved, seconded by Darrel Fehr motion carried 2-0. 

 

Reading by Treasurer of December financial report-Ending balance on December 31st, 2025 of $25,635.73 and total cash on hand $132,057.87. Security Bank loan balance as of December 31st, 2025 is $54,396.46

 

Reading and approval of the December bills-checks 6533-6557-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0. 

 

Building/driveway permits-none

Approval of CSM for Tony Pecha; Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.   

Approval of CSM for David LaGesse; Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.

 

Approval of new proposed printer & Business Select membership for townhall(price is $569 for printer but with the Business Select membership($49) there will be a price discount; Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.

 

Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission-did not meet

 

Chairman’s report-fire report-no fires to report-next year on the roads we will need to change our plans and use the monies from county, we will need to use this so that we can use our TRIS monies the following year, 2026 after July 1st 70th Street, 2027 186th Street

 

Recycling report by Rod Thorson- steady-all the boxes are about 75% full, workers continue to be good, needs to be plowed and sanded

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report-townhall will be rented out on the 18th and 31st this month, Election Equipment training 1/14, new emails, I will be gone 2/11-2/15.

 

Future items and business-next meeting 2/9/26, revised road work for 2026 & 186th culvert projects.
