Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on January 8, 2024 at 7:00 pm. The supervisor present
was Matt Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the January 8, 2024 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on January 7, 2024.

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None
Approval of the December 11, 2023 regular board meeting minutes – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve minutes for December 11 Town board meeting. Darrel Fehr seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Reading by Treasurer of December financial report: Ending balance on December 31, 2023 of $86,531.46 and total cash
on hand $181,130.54.
Reading and Approval of the December bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers #5997 - 6019 for payment of the December bills. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Building/driveway permits: David Freeberg for steel roof on shed
Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: Did not meet
Chairman’s report: no fires, EOG public hearing1:00 on January 9 at Chippewa courthouse to discuss leaving ponds at DS mine, LaGesse mine still working on reclamation and building a pond.
Recycling report by Rod Thorson – not much to report for expense/income for new year, Northern Metal swapped out metal dumpster and Mark Clements will come and load some steel appliances.
Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report: NO February 20th primary election for Cooks Valley, Jan will be available at town hall on Wednesday January 31st to receive end of month tax payments, town hall rented for February 11 noon-3pm for baby shower, W-2’s and 1099’s done by Ackerlund Financial and mailed out, monthly payments for town hall will be $2083.33
Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories, minutes of January 8, 2024 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, January bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, discussion on bids for ditch mowing
The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – February 12, 2024 at 7:00 pm
