Regular Town Board Meeting

January 9, 2023

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on January 9, 2023 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

were David Clements and Matt Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the January 9, 2023 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on January 6, 2023.

 

Public Comment:  None

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None

Approval of the December 12 Town Board meeting minutes – David Clements made a motion to approve minutes for December 12 Board meeting.   Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0. 

 

Reading by Treasurer of December financial report: Ending balance on December 31, 2022 of  $36,951.36 and total cash on hand $130,324.34.

                                                   

Reading and Approval of the December bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #5750 - 5770 for payment of the December bills. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: None

 

Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: Did not meet                                                     

Discussion and possible action on plans for new Town Hall: finished painting, some electrical done, committee picked out carpet and counters for kitchen, well was hooked up with good water at 163 feet, heating is done, fixed mens bathroom for urinal, special doors ordered from AJ’s. Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve change orders for construction costs. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0

 

Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads –  no fires, slippery roads but county sanding/salting, Frontier Sand requesting refund of money held by township but cannot return until reclamation is complete.

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report:  January 24, 7pm meeting Town of Lafayette, final 2023 Transportation Aid $98,888.78, Mark Rihn put 48 acres into DNR Managed Forest, Bloomer School district has 2 seats to fill on Board, ordered W2’s and 1099’s from IRS, February 21 Primary election                                                                                                                              

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of January 9, 2023 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, January bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, discussion on New town hall, removal of stop sign on 135th Ave & 20th ST intersection and removal of stop sign on 40th Steet and 135th Ave.

 

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – February 13, 2023 at 7:00 pm and meeting will be adjourned at new Town hall. 

 

Adjourn:  Matt Borofka made a motion to adjourn at 7:19 pm. David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
