Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on July 10, 2023 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present
were Matt Borofka and Kale Clements. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the July 10, 2023 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on July 5, 2023.

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None
Approval of the June 12, 2023 Town Board meeting minutes – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve minutes for June 12 Town board meeting. Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Reading by Treasurer of June financial report: Ending balance on June 30, 2023 of $53,353.96 and total cash on hand $147,293.02.
Reading and Approval of the June bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers #5876 - 5894 for payment of the June bills. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Building/driveway permits: Mike Leavens for shed, Dennis Schindler for remodel of cooler, Clark Swartz pole shed, Paul Freeberg for steel roof on shed
Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: Did not meet
Discussion and possible to approval of operator permits – Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve 6 operator permits for Bloomer Rod & Gun. Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and possible action on road work – Darrel Fehr made a motion to put bid out for 3 culverts to replace 70th/148th Ave up to 150th Ave, and 1 culvert on 1010th ST. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0
Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads: no fires, roads are in good shape, had Chippewa county put up stop sign and mine reclamation coming along good.
Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report: special thanks to everyone for helping get town hall put back in order and looking good, and to Darrel & Mary Jo for getting water purifier and having it hooked up, zero dollars for Manufacturing real estate and personal property, received check from Chippewa for Recycling grant $1,325.41, town hall rental July 14 (5-8pm) for graduation, thanks to Rod Thorson for cleaning up recycling area, received check from Northern Metal Recycling $164.50 (4700 lbs) for frag feed.
Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories, minutes of July 10, 2023 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, July bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, open bids for road work to replace 4 culverts
The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – August 14, 2023 at 7:00 pm
