Town of Cooks Valley 

REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

MONDAY July 14th, 2025

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on July 14th, 2025 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

was Kale Clements. Other officers present: Erica Ullom-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the July 14th, 2025 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on July 7th, 2025.

 

Public Comment: no public comment 

 

Discussion and possible action on budget categories- none brought forward 

 

Approval of the June 9th board meeting minutes and June 18th Special Meeting for approval of liquor licenses-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.  

 

Reading by Treasurer of June financial report-Ending balance on June 30th, 2025 of $173,955.46 and total cash on hand $269,663.70. Security Bank loan balance as of June 30th, 2025 is $79,644.54 

 

Building/driveway permits-Cantrall(building), Wanger(driveway)

 

Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission-did not meet

 

Discussion and possible action on David & Cheryl Helland CSM, a signed survey was presented-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.   

 

Discussion and possible action on switching town emails to .gov instead of bloomer.net-some questions/comments that were brought up is there a cost to it, does this open the door for some grants if there is a cost with it, there is a webinar on how to do it.   Darrel Fehr made a motion to start the process on looking into this change for security purposes and easy of use also to start looking into cost and details, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0

 

Chairman’s report-fire report-Mine Roads-there were no fires, ditches were mowed, Darrel Fehr mowed the townhall, powerline going in on the bike path by Jim Falls.   

 

Recycling report by Rod Thorson-Rod gave an updated report and schedule with a quarterly spread sheet and noted that the employees are being great about filling in and making sure shifts are covered.  The township will be reciving the recycling grant for $1325.82.      

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report-Erica went to the Clerk Boot Camp on June 19th,  liquor license certificates were delivered. 

 

A special meeting will be Tuesday July 15th at 8pm at the town hall to approve the June bills.
