REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
MONDAY October 13th, 2025
Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on October 13th, 2025 at 7:00 pm. The supervisor present
was Matt Borofka. Other officers present: Erica Ullom-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.
Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the October 13th, 2025 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on October 8th, 2025.
Public Comment: no public comment
Discussion and possible action on budget categories- none brought forward
Approval of the September 8th 2025 board meeting minutes Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.
Darrel made a motion to correct the minutes from the August 11th meeting to reflect a more precise timeline and location for proposed future road work; seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.
Reading by Treasurer of September financial report-Ending balance on September 30th 2025 of $223,707.66 and total cash on hand $319,756.81. Security Bank loan balance as of September 30th, 2025 is $74,140.00 .
Reading and approval of the September bills-checks checks 6464 to 6486, Matt Borofka approved, seconded by Darrel Fehr motion carried 2-0.
Building/driveway permits-Robert & Rose Theurer, Laurance Lester, Clayton Shakal(driveway)
Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission-did not meet
Discussion and possible action on approving an operator license for Karla Culver-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.
Discussion and possible action on on the contract with the Chippewa County Humane Association the total payment for 2026 is $871.70-Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Matt Borofka motion carried 2-0.
Chairman’s report-fire report-no fires to report, Fire & Ambulance is getting a new fire tender and our portion is 11.85% for a total of $ 46,584.71 to be paid in three payments (2026-$9,316.94, 2027-$13,975.41 and 2028 $23,292.35) and a couple of pot holes were filled.
Recycling report by Rod Thorson-Rod gave an updated report and stated wrokers continue to be willing to fill shifts, metals bin was changed out, there are some full totes and some freon items, paperwork for registering for appliances, some landscaping maintenance will be done before winter, also cost analysis fees vs costs for the next meeting.
Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report-there will be $10,000 transferred from the towns checking to the Money Market for fire, ambulance and roads as per the budget, election training was 10/6 and we had 5 attend there will be 3 attending on 10/15.
Future items and business-budget meeting October 22nd at 4pm, next meeting is November 10th at 7pm-we will be looking at an updated schedule of fees and forfeitures.
