Town of Cooks Valley 

REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

MONDAY September 8th, 2025

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on September 8th, 2025 at 7:01 pm. The supervisors present 

was Kale Clements. Other officers present: Erica Ullom-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the September 8th, 2025 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on September 5th, 2025.

Public Comment: no public comment 

Discussion and possible action on budget categories- none brought forward 

 

Approval of the August 11th 2025 board meeting minutes Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.  

Reading by Treasurer of August financial report-Ending balance on August 31st, 2025 of $244,800.66 and total cash on hand $340,742.47. Security Bank loan balance as of August 31st, 2025 is $76,007.85. 

 

Reading and approval of the August bills-checks 6448-6463,  Darrel Fehr approved, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0. 

 

Building/driveway permits-Jessie & Shelli Prince, Dan & Jeff Schindler

 

Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission-did not meet

 

Discussion and possible action on a sign for the town hall-Lynette Leavens submitted a bid for a sign: sign blank (foam core with substrate on each side) – more sturdy than aluminum .040-3’ x 5’ custom full color print with lamination, install of print 350.00 plus tax.   Location of sign and if lighting is needed to be determined.  Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept the bid as presented, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.  

 

Discussion and possible action on switching town emails to .gov email-Sprinter submitted a bid for making three new emails for the township with an initial cost of $644.00 and yearly maintenance cost of $144.  Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept the bid as presented, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.  

 

Discussion and possible action on new posting spot at the old town hall, Darrel Fehr made a motion to move the posting spot from EH Sales LLC to the old town hall, seconded by Kale Clements motion carried 2-0.

 

Chairman’s report-fire report-road repair and maintenance as well as washout repair is on going.  Haas had an equipment problem that hindered road repair; so that portion is behind.  

 

Recycling report by Rod Thorson-Rod gave an updated report and stated wrokers continue to be willing to fill shifts, said a thank you to Darrel for doing some yard work at the old town hall/recycling lot.      

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report-new posting box and mouse pad, election training 10/6 and 10/15.

Future items and business-next meeting October 13th 2025 at 7pm, budget meeting October 22nd at 4pm
