Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on September 9, 2024 at 7:00 pm. The supervisor present
was Kale Clements. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the September 9, 2024 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on September 6, 2024.
Public Comment: None
Discussion and possible action on budget categories: Budgeted $1000 for P-143 First Responders (spent $1108.65) Darrel Fehr made a motion to move $110 from Contingency Fund to P-143. Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Approval of the August 12, 2024 board meeting minutes – Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve minutes for August 12 board meeting minutes. Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Reading by Treasurer of August financial report: Ending balance on August 31, 2024 of $211,797.32 and total cash on
hand $307,295.94. Security Bank loan balance as of August 31, 2024 $99,372.91
Reading and Approval of the August bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers #6168 - 6185 for payment of the August bills. Kale Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Building/driveway permits: Linda McKluskey front porch remodel, Andy Shakal machine shed/shop, Donald Swartz pre-built garage
Discussion and possible action pertaining to plan commission- did not meet
Discussion and possible action on Chippewa County Unit meeting for Emergency Management plan – move to next month agenda
Chairman’s report: no fires in Township, road work has not been done on 148th & 70th ST yet, hopefully will be done next week after Damian Prince fixes bad spot in road, Ian Mattson, resident of township is going to have motor vehicle used dealership at his residence and Darrel Fehr signed off as needing no local permit or license to do so.
Recycling report by Rod Thorson – Rod gave the work schedule for September, Tom Yakesh made sign to post at recycling on changing hours for Tuesdays from 4-8pm to 4-7pm. Saturday will remain the same 4 hours. First choice picked up items with freon and TV’s.
Dissemination of Information, Clerks report: Received the 2024 State Apportionment report with an increase of .90% in County Equalized value, Elections went well with 40% voting, Xcel Energy installing new smart electric meter at the old town hall, Vicki (clerk) decided not to attend WTA meeting September 12 in Eau Claire,
Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories, minutes of September 9, 2024 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, September bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, discussion on Chippewa County Unit meeting for Emergency Management plan, set date for meeting to work on budget for 2025
The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – October 14, 2024 at 7:00 pm
