Regular Town Board Meeting

April 11, 2022

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on April 11, 2022 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

were David Clements and Matt Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the April 11, 2022 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on April 7, 2022.

Public Comment: Darrel Fehr thanked election workers and commented on success of the new town hall presentation. 

 

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: B-074 WTA dues budget $800 ($952.38). Darrel Fehr made a motion to move $113 from Non allocated funds to B-074. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0 Leaving $7887 in Non allocated funds account

Approval of the March 14, 2022 regular town board meeting minutes & March 14 special meeting minutes for mine reviews  –  David Clements made a motion to approve both March 14 meeting minutes.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

Reading by Treasurer of March financial report: Ending balance on March 31, 2022 of  $173,426.24 and total cash on hand $$410,116.40.

                                                   

Reading and Approval of the March bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #5566 - 5589 for payment of the March bills. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: Mark Clements Sr to build shed on existing concrete slab

Discussion and possible action to reappoint members John Sykora IV & Damian Prince to Plan Commission: Darrel Fehr reappointed John Sykora IV and Damian Prince to Plan Commission for 2 year term. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0

 

Discussion and update on plans for new Town Hall – No update on Town Hall but will be discussed at Annual meeting next week April 19 at 7 pm.

 

Discussion and possible action to change remaining roads for crack filling on Fahrner 2021 contract: Darrel Fehr made a motion to change rest of crack filling from 40th St to 60th St. David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0 

 

Chairman’s report: – no fires, road bans will stay until April 27, bid for crack filling for 135th Ave for EOG and still need to contact EOG with estimate, contacted county about paving roads for 2022 and cost will be $160-170,000 per mile, mines are working on reclamation, Village of New Auburn does not want to participate in purchase of building in Bloomer

 

Dissemination of Information-  Spring Election was a great success and thanks to all who worked. Lots of interest by voters on plans for new town hall. Voter turnout was 25%. General Transportation Aid $24,242.94 will be deposited in April, Lottery and Gaming for 2021 deposited in April will be $7,888.73, Quickbooks update done and good for another 3 years,                                  

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of April 11, 2022 regular meeting, Treasurers financial report, April bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission

                       

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – May 9, 2022 at 7:00 pm

 

Adjourn:  Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 7:23 pm. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
