Regular Town Board Meeting

April 12, 2010

Chairman Ron Fanetti called the meeting to order on April 12, 2010 at 8:00 pm.   The supervisors present were: Gary Yakesh and David Clements. Other officers present were:  Victoria Trinko-Clerk and Eunice Steinmetz-treasurer. See attached list for delegation present.
PUBLIC COMMENT:  Gene & Beth Pagel commented they appreciate the good job the board is doing and to keep up the good work.  
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve and place on file the minutes of March 15, 2010 regular town board meeting and the March 31, 2010 special board meeting. David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
David Clements made a motion to approve the April financial report.  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve the March bills.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.  
Discussion and possible action on budget categories:  no action was taken.
Notice of Claim—Loran Zwiefelhofer-sanding charges:  David Clements, supervisor, talked with Chippewa County Highway Dept. employees concerning the sanding at Loran Zwiefelhofer’s residence.  Matt Hartman, Chippewa County Highway Dept. employee who spread the sand, related that Loran Zwiefelhofer requested sand to be spread in front of the sawdust business, in front of the house, and across the road in front of the pole shed where he stores his sawdust.  No action was taken.
Discussion and possible action on CCRH Picnic license application:  David Clements made a motion to approve the CCRH picnic license application contingent upon CCRH having insurance and a licensed bartender on the premises at all times.  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
Discussion and possible action on operators license application-Rose Sundstrom:  Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve Rose Sundstrom’s operators license application.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and possible action on setting the date of open book and Board of Review:  The date for the Open Book and Board of Review is Tuesday May 18, 2010.  Open book will be from 4-6 pm and Board of Review will be from 6-8 pm.
Annual Meeting:  The annual meeting will be held on April 13, 2010 at 7:30 pm at the Cooks Valley Town Hall.
Plan commission membership:  Chris DeGidio has completed his term as a member of the plan commission and declines serving another term.  The town board thanked Chris DeGidio for his service on the plan commission.   Rudy Oblak will be moving and his position on the plan commission will be open.  David Clements talked to WTA and was informed members of the plan commission do not have to be a resident of the town.  Other townships and municipalities have people on their plan commission who are not residents of the township. 
Discussion and possible action on recycling contract:  Town of Howard and Town of Cooks Valley have notified Waste Management within the 90 days of the termination of the present contract of the possible negotiation with other recycling companies about a contract.  Waste Management sent a proposal to the Chairman but he has not opened the proposal as we do not have other bids from other companies.  Information gathered from other companies has indicated there may be a requirement to separate plastic, cardboard, and glass. 
Discussion and possible action on mowing bid:  A bid for mowing will be placed in the Bloomer Advance with the specifications of 36.17 miles of roads, 2 swaths where possible of 6 foot swaths, cost per mowing, and on 170th Avenue off of 70th Street the mowing should be to the road right-of-way [to the fence lines and light poles.]
