Regular Town Board Meeting

April 14, 2008

Chairman Ron Fanetti called the meeting to order on April 14, 2008 at 8:03 pm.  The supervisors present were: David Clements and Gary Yakesh.  Delegation present were:  Victoria Trinko-clerk, Eunice Steinmetz-treasurer, Vernon Steinmetz, and David LaGesse.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Vernon Steinmetz reported the Chippewa County Highway Dept. wants to leave the post for road bans in the ditch after the road ban sign has been removed.  The board and Vernon Steinmetz agreed leaving the posts would hinder the grass mowing of the ditch and the post would present a safety hazard if allowed to remain in the ditch without a sign.  The Chippewa County Highway Dept. will have to remove the posts after the road bans have been lifted. 
Gary Yakesh made a motion to accept and place on file the minutes of the March 10, 2008 regular meeting and the minutes of the special board meeting of March 13, 2008.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
David Clements made a motion to approve the April financial report.  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve the payment of the March bills.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.   
There was no action taken on budget categories.
Discussion and possible action on establishment of an annual motile home park fee/resolution was tabled to the next meeting.
Ron Fanetti made a motion to grant a variance for a garage to Roger Wohlk in regard to the required distance from the roadway.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.  The plan commission approved this variance and presented it to the board.  Requiring the distance established in the ordinance would have necessitated a second driveway and excavation into the wooded bluff, increasing the chance of soil erosion.  Therefore, it was decided to grant the variance.
Ron Fanetti made a motion to accept the certified survey maps presented by Lee Prill that were surveyed prior to the ordinance but not recorded.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
Gary Yakesh approved the operators license applications of Alisa King and Rebecca Yakesh for Trout Creek Inn.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT:  Vernon Steinmetz reported attending the safety meeting and receiving information on the disposal of tires.
CLERK’S REPORT:

• Minutes of the semi-annual meeting of the townships and City of Bloomer were given to Ron Fanetti to copy for the board members.
• The township received a notice of $2.00 owed to Rural Insurance but no bill at this time.
• Dissemination of brochure from Amtczak Construction
• Perusal of CSM from Lee Prill
• Information from Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association concerning certification of building inspectors.
• Thank you card from Ellie Paulson for the plant sent from the township for Orville Paulson’s funeral
• Letter from the Department of Revenue concerning assessment report.

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:

• Building permit from Tony Pecha for grain bins [drying bin and wet storage bin].
• Building permit from Isaac Schindler for a free stall barn.
• Driveway permit for Isaac Schindler
• 2007 assessment ratios were reviewed and the township is in compliance.
• The brushing will be finished on April 15, 2008.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND BUSINESS:

• The next regular monthly town board meeting will be May 12, 2008 at 8:00 pm.
• Discussion and possible action on budget categories.
• Establishment of an annual mobile home park fee resolution.
• Board of Review date and date for training for Board of Review certification.

Gary Yakesh made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 p.m.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
