Regular Town Board Meeting

February 15, 2021

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on February 15, 2021 at 7:30 pm. The supervisors present 

were David Clements and Matthew Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Judith Prince –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the February 15, 2021 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on February 11, 2021

 

Public Comment: None

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None

Approval of the January 11, 2021 regular town board & January 11 Special meeting minutes  – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve both January meeting minutes.  David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.  

 

Reading by Treasurer of January financial report: Ending balance on January 31, 2021 of  $110,903.45 and total          

cash on hand  $303,677.24

                                                   

Reading and Approval of the December bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #5283 - 5304 for payment of the January bills.  David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: none

 

Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: None

Discussion and possible action to allow Chairman Darrel Fehr to place bids for Township for the coming year – Matt Borofka made a motion to allow Darrel Fehr to place bids for township in 2021. David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 2-0

Discussion and possible approval of CSM for Dean D & Debra Rosenbrook – Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve CSM for Dean Rosenbrook. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.                                                                 

 

Discussion and possible approval of change in time for meetings from 7:30 to 7:00 pm – Darrel Fehr made a motion to move time from 7:30 to 7:00pm. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads –  No fires reported, bridge inspection report came back good. Dan Masterpole updated Darrel on reclamation of Frontier Sand mine.

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report:  report from State for Covid relief check that was issued on 12/10/2020 in the amount of $390.92 (only approved stamps & plexiglass), refund from CVTC for recinded taxes in 2019 ($28.21), special dividend check from Rural Mutual in the amount of $83.00, election will be held February 16 for State Superintendant of Public schools. Construction Business Group requested all documents involving the road project for 2020 on 150th Ave (bids submitted, newspaper ad, postings and meeting minutes, & all bills submitted for road work). The state request for new buildings in township for 2020, submitted form to DIR Demographic Services for 1 new single family home.

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of February 15, 2021 regular meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, February bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, discussion on approval of revised mining permit with Purfrac

 

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – March 8, 2021 at 7:00 pm

 

Adjourn:  Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 7:52 pm.  David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
