Regular Town Board Meeting

January 10, 2011

Supervisor Gary Yakesh called the meeting to order on January 10, 2011 at 7:30 pm.   The supervisors present:  Gary Yakesh and John Sykora.  Chairman David Clements was unable to attend the meeting.  Other officers present were:  Victoria Trinko-Clerk and Eunice Steinmetz-treasurer. See attached list for delegation present.
PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.
John Sykora made a motion to approve and place on file the minutes of December 13, 2010 regular town board meeting .  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0. 
John Sykora made a motion to approve the January financial report.  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0. 
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve the December bills.  John Sykora seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.     
Discussion and possible action on budget categories:  No action was required on this agenda item.
Building Permits:  There were no building permits filed within the Town of Cooks Valley.
Discussion and possible action on building permit refusal-Marie Anderson:   Gary Yakesh made a motion to postpone this item until the February monthly town board meeting.  John Sykora seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
Chairman’s Report:

•  The engine braking signs will be delivered to Gary Yakesh’s house.  Vernon Steinmetz or the Chippewa County Highway Dept. will install the signs when the frost has melted or trucking recommences.

Dissemination of Information: 

• Waste Management schedule brochures were distributed to Vernon Steinmetz
• District meetings sponsored by WTA concerning ordinances, descriptions of officer duties, and public records are being conducted.  Gary Yakesh made a motion to reimburse Victoria Trinko the amount of $40.00 plus mileage to attend the WTA meeting on March 18, 2011.  John Sykora seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
• Discussion of the Town of Howard new mining ordinance.
• Request to change the regular meeting date to the 3rd week in February.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND BUSINESS

• The next regular monthly town board meeting will be February 21, 2011 at 7:30 pm.
• Discussion and possible action on budget categories.
• Marie Anderson-building permit refusal
• Building permits

ADJOURN:  Gary Yakesh made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:54 pm.  John Sykora seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0
