Regular Town Board Meeting

January 11, 2021

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on January 11, 2021 at 7:30 pm. The supervisors present 

were David Clements and Matthew Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Judith Prince –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the January 11, 2021 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on January 7, 2021

 

Public Comment: None

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: None

Approval of the December 14, 2020 regular town board & December 31st Special meeting minutes  – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve both December meeting minutes.   David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.  

Reading by Treasurer of December financial report: Ending balance on December 31, 2020 of  $ 92,090.84 and total           

cash on hand  $284,806.00

                                                   

Reading and Approval of the December bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #5259 - 5282 for payment of the December bills.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion . The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: Missy Turner to remodel existing deck

 

Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: None

Discussion and possible renewal of animal control contract –Calvin presented 2021 contract to Board and it will be the same as 2020. Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept contract for Animal control from Calvin & Susie Swartz for 2021. Dave Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0

Discussion and possible action on signing offer to purchase Jay Zwiefelhofer property – Darrel Fehr made a motion       to sign offer to purchase land and approve CSM for property. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried   3-0

Discussion and possible approval of CSM for Joe Helland – Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve CSM for Joe Helland. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Discussion and possible approval of operator permit for Bloomer Rod and Gun – Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve Mark Petska operator permit. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads –  No fire report received, roads are good and received one complaint on slippery roads and it was taken care of.

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report: 2021 Transportation aids $95,054.76, received email from County that there will most likely be a primary on February 16, 2021, and Spring election will be held April 6, 2021 

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of January 11, 2021 regular meeting and Special meeting with Purfrac approved, Treasurers financial report, January bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, discussion on change of meeting time from 7:30 to 7:00 pm

 

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – February 8, 2021 at 7:30 pm

 

Adjourn:  Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 7:46 pm.  David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
