PUBLIC COMMENT: Since our Chapter 19 Non-Metallic Mining Ordinance was orally ruled invalid on July 6, 2010, leaving the Town of Cooks Valley with no regulations or authority to set provisions in the mining process, and thanks to Bill Reynolds, the County Board, the DNR, or state of Wisconsin having no regulations the Town of Cooks Valley is vulnerable to any mining operations; therefore, I, Vicky Trinko, town clerk, am recommending that residents who are not planning to do mining in the Town of Cooks Valley have their water and wells tested and bring the results to be recorded in the Town of Cooks Valley monthly minutes as a precaution for possible water contamination in the future.
