Regular Town Board Meeting

June 8, 2020

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on June 8, 2020 at 7:30 pm. The supervisor present
was Matthew Borofka.  Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-,clerk and Judith Prince –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.
Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the June 8, 2020 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on May 28, 2020
Public Comment: None

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: NONE
Approval of the May 11, 2020 regular town board meeting minutes and June 4 special meeting minutes – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve May 11th & June 4th meeting minutes.  Darrel Fehr seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0. 
Reading by Treasurer of May financial report: Ending balance on May 31st of 186,813.27 and total cash on hand
$ 357,125.72                             
Reading and Approval of the May bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers #5124 - 5143 for payment of the May bills.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion – The motion carried 2-0.

Building/driveway permits: driveway permit for Francis Bleskacek, Barlow Farms to build a shed

Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: Darrel Fehr suggested to Calvin Swartz that the Plan Commission should hold an organizational meeting with the 2 new members, Aaron Sarauer & Scott Culver

Discussion and possible action to rescind Ordinance #28 (duplicate with #5) – Darrel Fehr made a motion to rescind Ordinance #28. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 2-0.

Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads – Call out to fire on 20th street, shed burned. Darrel Fehr is having Fedderly look at 135th Ave for recommendation on repair work.

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report: Published the liquor license for Rod & Gun Club and Valley Tavern in the Bloomer Advance for June 10th. Need to schedule a special meeting for Board to approve licenses and operator permits before June 30th. Darrel Fehr made a motion to hold meeting on June 26th at 9:00am. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 2-0. Thanks to all poll workers for a successful election day on May 12th. We had 173 votes (59 absentee) which figured out to be 39% voter turn out.
Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of June 8, 2020 regular meeting and June 25th special meeting, Treasurers financial report, June bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission, change date for final meeting with Purfrac to settle road agreement

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – July 13, 2020 at 7:30 pm
Adjourn:  Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 7:46 pm.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 2-0.
