May13, 2019
Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on May 13, 2019 at 7:30 pm. The supervisor present was
David Clements. Other officers present were: Vicki Freeberg--clerk and Judith A. Prince –treasurer and Victoria
Trinko – Deputy Clerk. See attached list for delegation present.
Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.
Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the May 13, 2019 town board meeting was duly posted on May 9, 2019 in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley.
Public Comment: There was no public comment.
Discussion and possible action on budget categories: Darrel Fehr made a motion to move $1000.00 from non-allocated funds to B-077 – Board supplies & expenses leaving a balance of $7750.00 in non-allocated funds. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Approval of the April 8, 2019 regular town board meeting minutes and the April 23, 2019 Special Town board meeting minutes: David Clements made a motion to approve the April 8, 2019 regular town board meeting minutes and April 23, 2019 Special town board minutes. Darrel Fehr seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Reading by Treasurer of April financial report: The ending balance as of April 30, 2019 was $132,161.65 with
the total assets of $300,683.59. Other funds for deposit were $25.00 from Gary Henderson for fire suppression, $10.00 from Stacy Pecha at Valley Tavern for operators license, $211 .00 from Loren Zwiefelhofer for bobcat fire,
and $552 from Quality Fuels truck that tipped over in a driveway. $52 will be refunded to Quality Fuels as our
Ordinance only allows the Town of Cooks Valley to charge $500.
Reading and Approval of the April bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve the check vouchers #4870 -#4888 for payment of the April bills. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Building permits: Allen Prince – rebuild pole shed, Chippewa County driveway address for Jeff Ballentine
Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: No action taken
Discussion of fire number replacement in township –There was discussion of options for the replacement of fire numbers: Option 1-replacement of entire number sign, Option 2- replacement of single numbers. Darrel will drive around and check signs to see how many may need to be replaced. Darrel emailed Russell Bauer about this replacement project but hasn’t heard back as of yet. This item will be put on future agenda for next month.
Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept. No fires during the month of April in the Town of Cooks Valley. Mine Roads- Monarch Paving has begun pulverizing the section of 40th Ave –the road committee considered future paving of 140th Ave to CTY A and a clear patch on 148th Ave. The town roads are in pretty good shape.
Dissemination of Information –Clerk’s report: Monarch Paving requested a tax exempt certificate but the Town of Cooks Valley does not have a tax exempt number so the chairman will respond back to them. WI Salt Solutions – no action taken. The clerk presented the board with WTA budget concerns placed on their agenda for May 14, 2019 meeting. WTA would like town boards to support their budget concerns with representatives at the Capitol.

There will be a cemetery meeting on June 17, 2019 following the town board meeting.
The next regular town meeting is scheduled for the 3rd Monday -June 17th at 7:30 pm
