Regular Town Board Meeting

November 15, 2021

 

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the meeting to order on November 15, 2021 at 7:00 pm. The supervisors present 

were David Clements and Matt Borofka. Other officers present: Vicki Freeberg-clerk and Jan Thorson –treasurer.

Recitation of Pledge of Allegiance by delegation present.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the November 15, 2021 board meeting was duly posted in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley on November 12, 2021.

 

Public Comment: None

Discussion and possible action on budget categories: B073 Printing & Publication budget 400 (425.43) and U138 Town Hall Maint & Repair 100 (158.00)  Darrel Fehr made a motion to move $50 from Non Allocated funds to B073 Printing & Publication and to move $200 from Non Allocated funds to U138 Town Hall Maintenance.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0

Approval of the October 11, 2021 regular town board meeting minutes & October 26 Special Budget meeting – Matt Borofka made a motion to approve October 11 and October 26 meeting minutes.  David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0. 

 

Reading by Treasurer of October financial report: Ending balance on October 31, 2021 of  $140,272.60 and total 

cash on hand $376,638.60.        

                                                   

Reading and Approval of the October bills: Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve check vouchers  #5447 - 5465 for payment of the October bills. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.

 

Building/driveway permits: Paul Freeberg remodel shed, Mike Leavens build home, Amanda Mayry 3 sided lean to

Discussion and possible action relating to the plan commission: None                                                     

Discussion and approval of operator permit for Bloomer Rod and Gun: Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept Eric Tealey application for Operator permit. David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.

 

Discussion and possible action on 2022 Trip funds for road project: Use Trip Funds for 170th Ave and approved 5 year road plan.

 

Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept./Roads –  Ambulance called out to Woodmans, first snowfall and plows were out – LaGesse mine is being closed, Buchner mine no change, DS mine reclamation is going along good.

 

Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report: First notice of Non Compliance from DOR for property tax, automatic withdrawl from DNR for $514.20 (error) DNR will be refunding money, withdrew funds 797.85 from Frontier Sand account to pay 2nd half personal property tax for Sam LaGesse, Chief Inspectors and poll workers are doing hours of training online and will be paid a per diem.                                                                                                                            

Future agenda items and business: Pledge of Allegiance, discussion and possible action on: Budget categories,  minutes of October 11, 2021 regular meeting and October 26, 2021 Budget meeting approved, Treasurers financial report, October bills, building permits, concerns pertaining to the Plan Commission                                                                            

 

The next regular town meeting is scheduled for – December 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm with Christmas Party following, Election workers list to be approved by Board for 2022-2023, 4 more operator permits for Bloomer Rod & Gun

 

Adjourn:  Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 7:23 pm. David Clements seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
