Regular Town Board Meeting

October 11, 2010

Chairman Ronald Fanetti called the meeting to order on October 11, 2010 at 8:00 pm via speaker phone.   The supervisors present were: David Clements and Gary Yakesh.  Other officers present were:  Victoria Trinko-Clerk and Eunice Steinmetz-treasurer. See attached list for delegation present.
PUBLIC COMMENT:  Vernon Steinmetz, recycling director, reported the amount of the collection and sale of tin cans-$422.50 aluminum cans-$866.58 for a total of $1,239.08.  This amount offsets the wages of the recycling director.
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve and place on file the minutes of September 13, 2010 regular town board meeting. David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0. 
David Clements made a motion to approve the September financial report.  Gary Yakesh seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.  Supervisor David Clements will talk with the Superintendent of the 60th Street project about submitting a bill so we can pay the bill in November as TRIP funds bill needs to submitted for reimbursement.  The blacktopping of 60th Street is projected to begin on Wed. October 13.
Gary Yakesh made a motion to approve the September bills.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.  
Discussion and possible action on budget categories:  The town clerk asked about the use of the funds in the categories of Focus on Energy and GAB.  These funds should be disbursed in this year’s budget.  Supervisor David Clements will check with Glenn Schindler about weather-stripping of the town hall door, installment of a door threshold, and additional insulation in the town garage ceiling.  
Building Permits:  Earl Hassemer-new roof on house & garage, Joe Babbitt-house, Vernon Steinmetz-patio, and Todd Buchner-steel roof on house & garage.
Discussion and possible action on building permit refusal-Marie Anderson:  On advice of Attorney Stoddard, more time is needed to pursue this issue.  Gary Yakesh made a motion to postpone this item until the November monthly town board meeting.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
Real Estate Seminar:  No action was taken
Discussion and possible action to adopt MABAS agreement:  Supervisor Gary Yakesh explained the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System agreement between the Bloomer Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Cooks Valley.  This agreement allows smaller fire depts.  to request additional help and equipment with no invoices required.            Gary Yakesh made a motion to adopt the resolution of Mutual Aid Box Alarm System agreement.  David Clements seconded the motion.  Roll call vote:  Gary Yakesh-aye, Ronald Fanetti-aye, David Clements-aye.  The motion carried 3-0.
