Supervisor David Clements called the meeting to order on October 17, 2016 at 7:30 pm. The supervisors present were: David Clements and Matt Borofka. Other officers present were: Victoria Trinko-clerk and Judith A. Prince-treasurer. See attached attendance sheet.

Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting: The notice for the October town board meeting was duly posted on October 13, 2016 in the 3 designated places within the Town of Cooks Valley.
Public Comment: There was no public comment.
Discussion and possible action on budget categories: no action taken
Approval of the September 12, 2016 regular monthly town board meeting, September 13, 2016, September 21, 2016 and September 26, 2016 special meeting minutes: David Clements made a motion to approve and place on file the September 12, 2016 regular monthly town board meeting, September 13, 2016, September 21, 2016 and September 26, 2016 special meeting minutes. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Reading by the Treasurer of the September financial report: The ending check book balance was $162,471.45 as of September 30, 2016. The total cash assets for the Town of Cooks Valley were $326,322.80. The treasurer received a check for $200.00 from Preferred Sands for the annual permit review meeting and a check for $205.00 for fire suppression-ambulance service.
Reading and approval of the September bills: David Clements made a motion to approve the check vouchers #4184 through #4203 for payment of August bills. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Building permits: Brandon & Alyssa Erickson-pole shed
Discussion and possible action pertaining to the plan commission: no action taken.
Discussion and possible action on transportation resolution: postponed to the Oct. meeting
Discussion and possible action on the execution of a contract for brushing on various town roads: David Clements made a motion to execute a contract for brushing on various town roads to J J Clearing not to exceed $15,000.00. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Chairman’s report: – Fire Dept. there was an ambulance call in the Town of Cooks Valley in September. Mine Roads- The road projects have been completed-135th Avenue [west] is paved and shouldered and 20th Street/Lookout Lane is double chip sealed. The Chairman recommended people to drive on the road to work in the gravel, especially on warm days.
Dissemination of Information-Clerk’s report: Signatures needed on recycling grant form and memorandum of understanding. Shared revenue for 2017 will be $39,841.00

Next regular board meeting will be November 14, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. The budget public hearing, special meeting of the electors, and town board special meeting will be on November 15, 2016.
