TOWN OF COOKS VALLEY

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

February 2, 2022

The Special Town Board meeting of the Town of Cooks Valley was called to order on February 2, 2022 at the Cooks Valley town hall located at 15751 40th Street at 11:00 am by Chairman Darrel Fehr.  Supervisors present were David Clements and Matt Borofka.  Other town official present was Vicki Freeberg-clerk.    Also present was Dan Fedderly.

Discussion on Federal Funding for roads – Dan Fedderly presented the facts on new Federal legislation for townships in the state to acquire funding for roads. He explained the process of submitting application which is due by March. Determination will be made by April as to who will receive funding. Plans need to be ready by August for the road construction to begin. The DOT overseas the rest of the project after being approved.

There is a 5 year time frame to resubmit the application if not approved the first year.   

Discussion and possible action on hiring Town Engineer – Darrel Fehr made a motion to hire Town Engineer Dan Fedderly to submit the application for IIJA funding, and to do the Engineering and specifications for road project. Project is 40^th Street and will not exceed $25,000. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0

Adjourn:   Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn at 11:58 am.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 3-0.
