SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
March 14, 2022
A special town board meeting was called to order by Chairman Darrel Fehr on Monday March 14, 2022 at the Cooks Valley Town Hall located at 15751 40th Street at 7:37 pm. Officers in attendance: Darrel Fehr-chairman, David Clements-supervisor, Matt Borofka-supervisor, Vicki Freeberg-clerk, Jan Thorson-treasurer. David Bokor-representative for EOG and Dave Rosenbrook-representative for Purfrac were in attendance.
Review of EOG Non-Metallic Mining permit with Public Comment:
May 2021 starting working on plans for reclamation. Earth work continued during winter, as of 25th February moved 1.6 cu tons about 1 million ton remaining. Pond on the Johnson property will be back filled in 2022. Planting will start during May and go through the summer. Earthwork expected to be completed and vegetation in place by September 2022. On November 17, 2021 the EOG plant in Chippewa was sold and being dismantled and moved to Texas. Will continue to monitor wells and discharge from storm water ponds. New address for EOG is PO Box 715. Darrel Fehr asked Dave Bokor about upgrade to road and he will need estimate on cost of updating 135th Ave. Public comment, question on Johnson property. Up for sale when reclamation is finished which will be next year 2023.
Review of Purfrac non-metallic mining permit with public comment – no plans to do anything for 2022, investors are watching the markets.
Adjourn: Darrel Fehr made the motion to adjourn at 8:05 pm. Matt Borofka seconded the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
