REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
October 20, 2014
AGENDA

The Town of Cooks Valley town board will hold its regular town meeting on Monday [NOTE ONE WEEK LATER, October 20, 2014 at the Cooks Valley Town Hall [15751 40th Street] at 8:00 pm.  The public is invited to attend this meeting.  A possible quorum of the plan commission may be present at this meeting.

  1. Call to Order
  2. Certification of proper posting for the scheduled town board meeting 
  3. Public Comment: the Cooks Valley town board welcomes public comments on matters pertaining to township issues.  Because it is important to maintain order during the meeting, it is the policy of the town board that all public comments on an issue shall be limited to three (3) minutes per person, no person may make more than  (1) comment per subject, and the session is no more than thirty minutes long.  (We apologize for the tight pm time restrictions.  They are necessary to ensure that we complete our business).  Comments may be made on any subject pertaining to township issues, however, comments on matters not appearing on this agenda can only be discussed but may not be acted on at this meeting.  If the board desires, the matters may be placed on a future agenda for action.  No debating between residents   
  4. Discussion and possible action on budget categories 
  5. Approval of the September 15, 2014 regular monthly town board meeting minutes and special meeting minutes of September 23, October 1-186th project and Chippewa Sands annual permit review 
  6. Reading by Treasurer of September financial report   
  7.  Reading and approval of the September bills   
  8. Building permits  
  9. Discussion and possible action of concerns pertaining to the plan commission
  10. Discussion and possible action of Humane Association contract
  11. Discussion and possible action on resolution for natural gas pipeline in Town of Cooks Valley road right-of-way along 186th Avenue to 60th street then south on 60th to State Highway 40 to 60th Street and then east on 160th Avenue and then south on County Highway F as requested by Xcel Energy
  12. Discussion and possible approval on a resolution in support of Midwest Environmental Advocates petition to the Natural Resources board
  13. Discussion and signing Memorandum of Understanding with county clerk’s office
  14. Discussion and possible approval of the purchase of a computer and printer for the treasurer
  15. Discussion and possible action on a request for lowering the speed limit on 10th Street
  16. Chairman’s report –Fire Dept.  Mine Roads  
  17. Dissemination of Information- clerk’s report  
  18. Future Items

Please take notice that during the meeting the Town Board may go into closed session, pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§ 19.83 & 19.85(1) (g), to confer on legal matters concerning the township.
