TOWN OF COOKS VALLEY
SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
August 29, 2013

 

A special town board meeting was called to order 8:01 pm by Chairman Darrel Fehr at the Cooks Valley Town Hall located at 15784 40th Street at 8:30 am.  Officers in attendance:  Darrel Fehr-chairman, David Clements-supervisor, Victoria Trinko-clerk.
Possible acceptance of bids for reshouldering, asphalt patching, and replacement of culverts: Darrel Fehr opened the bids for all projects. 
Bids for reshouldering approximately 2 miles on 155th Avenue from State Highway 40 west to 40th Street-  Dave Michels-$13.60 per ton, Chippewa County Highway Dept.-$10.87 per ton.  --Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept Chippewa County Highway Dept. bid of $10.87 per ton for reshouldering approximately 2 miles on 155th Avenue from State Highway 40 to 40th Street.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
Bids for asphalt patching:  Chippewa County Highway Dept. submitted the only bid at $55.71 per ton.  Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept the Chippewa County Highway Dept. bid of $55.71 per ton for asphalt patching on the east and west end of 170th Avenue from County Highway A west to 10th Street and from State Highway 40 east on 130th Avenue [approximately one mile of various patching and patch over culverts after replacement work is completed.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.  Darrel Fehr made a motion for the cost of the asphalt patching not to exceed $30,000.00.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
Bids for the replacement of culverts:  Chippewa County Highway Dept.-$29,284.19, Chippewa Valley Excavating-$28,662.00, Dave Michels-$31,285.00 including fabric and riprap on the three culverts that qualify for culvert aid.  Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept Chippewa Valley Excavation’s bid for $28,662.00 for the replacement of culverts.  David Clements seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0. 
Adjourn:  David Clements made a motion to adjourn the special town board meeting at 8:22 pm.  Darrel Fehr seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
