The Special Town Board meeting of the Town of Cooks Valley was called to order on November 4, 2015 at the Cooks Valley town hall located at 15751 40th Street at 8:00 am by Chairman Darrel Fehr. Supervisor present was David Clements. Other town official present was Victoria Trinko-clerk. See attached attendance list.
Discussion and possible action on the execution of a contract for brushing on various town roads: There was discussion of limits on the budget for 2015 highway maintenance and the validity of contracts with EOG due to Tom Maul’s departure from EOG. Darrel Fehr made a motion for an additional $20,000.00 in the highway maintenance budget for brushing to be paid to J & J Clearing in $5000.00 increments contingent upon the approval from the special meeting of the electors. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
Discussion and possible action on the execution of a contract for the reconstruction of 20th Street shouldering: 20th Street needs graveling and grading. It may be soft in the spring and would lose the gravel if the placement of gravel is completed this fall. There is some need for ditching on 20th Street. Darrel Fehr made a motion to approve a contract to Dave Michels Grading and Trucking to complete grading, ditching and graveling on 20th Street, not to exceed $24,500.00 this fall, weather permitting, contingent upon the approval from the special meeting of the electors. David Clements seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0.
